The Steady Parent Toolkit

Printable tools, scripts, and support for parents navigating emotional and behavioral storms.

There’s no handbook for what it feels like when your child shuts down, explodes, pushes you away, or refuses everything, especially when nothing you’ve read seems to apply.

This toolkit isn’t a solution to all of that. But it’s a starting point.

It’s a small set of printable, practical resources. I created it during the hardest seasons of supporting someone I love.

These are not medical, and they’re not magic.

They’re calm tools for chaotic days. Scripts for when you don’t know what to say. And gentle, steadying resources for when everything feels fragile.

You can print them, mark them up, or leave them on your kitchen bench for the next time you need something that doesn’t ask too much of you.

About These Resources

Some of these tools were created before I focused specifically on non-verbal demand-avoidance and early emotional dysregulation.

A few are better suited for verbal kids or those with ADHD-like profiles, while others are more flexible. I’ve kept them all because they’ve helped real families in different ways.

Take what works for you. Leave the rest. There’s no one-size-fits-all here. Just support you can shape to fit your own family.

You’re not failing. You’re carrying more than most.

Let this be a soft landing. A place to start from, not a place that tells you what you’re doing wrong.
