Your health information

Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Some of what you share here describes how you are doing. This page says plainly what that information is, why we use it, and how to take it back. It applies to every member, wherever you live.

Effective October 28, 2026

1. What we collect and why

Check-in, assessment and capacity-check answers (for example, how heavy the week felt, who helped you carry it, how steady you feel)

To show your pattern over time and suggest next steps

Options you tap in the Vent (what is happening, feelings, how heavy it is, what would help)

To respond to you and show which tools were useful

Words you type or speak (journal, reflections, goal notes, check-in notes, AI chat)

To measure your progress, personalize your plan, and create AI reflections and guidance for you

Patterns and scores we calculate from the above

To show you your own pattern

Safety note (date, type and severity of concern, never your words)

To make sure you saw crisis help

We do not ask for precise location, biometric or genetic data, or information about reproductive health care. Because you can write about anything, your own words may include health information; this policy covers that too.

2. Where it comes from

From you, and from our own calculations based on what you give us.

3. Who receives it

Our technology platform provider, which hosts the app, stores the database, handles sign-in and runs the AI tools, and the AI service it uses. Our email and text providers receive your contact details only to send messages you asked for; they never receive your answers or written words. Our payment provider handles payments.

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not put advertising pixels or advertising trackers in the app, and we do not share consumer health data with advertising platforms.

4. Your words and AI

The Steady Parent does not train its own AI models on your information.

Our app platform provider, which stores everything you enter, has told us that on our plan the information it stores may be used to train and improve AI models, and we cannot turn that off. This covers your check-in answers, your assessment answers, the options you tap, the words you type or speak, and your messages to our AI tools (chat logs). It is stored by our provider and is not end-to-end encrypted, and provider staff may be able to access it.

The AI services our tools use have their own data practices, which we do not control, including how long they keep information.

Because of this, we do not promise that anything you enter is confidential. Writing is optional, tapping is optional, and you can use many tools without an account. Please share only what you are comfortable with.

5. Your consent

We collect and use consumer health data to provide the service you asked for. At sign-up we ask for your consent separately from the Terms. Before you first type or speak your own words in the app, we ask again, because storing those words and sending them to AI tools goes further. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us or simply by choosing not to write. Withdrawing does not undo what was already done, and we will stop further use.

6. Your rights

You can ask whether we collect, use or share your consumer health data; ask for a copy, including a list of the third parties that received it; withdraw consent; and ask us to delete it. We respond within 45 days. Email hello@thesteadyparent.com with the subject "Health data request". If we decline a request you can appeal by replying "Appeal", and you may also contact your state attorney general.

Deletion is handled by us on request and is not yet automatic. Copies held in our provider’s backups may take longer to clear.

7. Changes

If we add a new category or purpose, we will describe it here and ask for your permission before using your data that way.
